Getting Started With DispatchX

Use this page when you are setting up DispatchX for a server for the first time. It walks through the order that usually works best: invite the bot, log in, choose a server, connect ERLC, configure Discord channels, then test one live workflow.

Before You Start

  • You need Manage Server permission in the Discord server you are setting up.
  • DispatchX must be invited to the server before the server can fully load in the app.
  • You need your ERLC private server API key if you want live map, lookup, and player data.
  • Turn on Discord Developer Mode so you can copy role and channel IDs.
In Discord, open User Settings, Advanced, then enable Developer Mode. After that you can right-click roles, channels, and servers to copy their IDs.

Set Up Your First Server

1

Invite DispatchX

Use Add Bot from the homepage and invite DispatchX to the Discord server you want to manage. Keep the default permissions unless your server has a custom permission setup.

2

Log In With Discord

Open the app, approve Discord login, and wait for your avatar and server list to load. DispatchX uses your Discord account to show the servers you can manage.

3

Open The Server

On the Servers page, select the server you invited DispatchX into. If it does not show, confirm the bot is in that server and that you are signed into the right Discord account.

4

Save The ERLC API Key

Go to Manage, open ERLC Integration, paste your ERLC server key, then save. This powers live players, vehicles, plates, map positions, and lookup results.

5

Add Discord IDs

In Discord Integration, paste the employee role ID, on-duty role ID, shift log channel, call log channel, and scene/citation log channel if your community uses them.

6

Test A Shift And Call

Have one member open LEO, start a shift, then have dispatch create a call and assign that unit. If both dashboards update, your core setup is working.
